The media centre is working to change how young people are represented by the media more broadly, seeking to move them from the periphery of stories and news coverage to the centre.
We support young people across Australia in media placements and to develop their media skills and expand their media literacy – including critical thinking and fact-checking skills, understanding different types of messaging and decoding power structures and ownership in our media landscape. We also help connect journalists with young people across Australia.
Are you a young person who wants to share your stories and opinions with the media? Or maybe you’re a producer or journalist keen to engage young voices on the issues of the day? Let’s talk!
