Step Up & Media for Advocacy: A Lunch to Reconnect and Inspire

On Saturday December 7th, we’re hosting a lunch for all our VIC based Step Up and Media for Advocacy participants and we’d love for you to join us! It’s been a while since we’ve all been together, so this lunch is a great opportunity to reconnect, catch up and share what you’ve been working on. You’ll also have the chance to meet more young campaigners, organisers & dreamers from across a different program and expand the movement network you’ve already started to build.

During the lunch, we’ll hear from a few groups on their current campaigns and have space to hear about what you’ve been up to since the programs.

Key Details

How much will it cost?

There is no cost to participants. FYA will provide lunch and a travel allowance to all participants including regional participants. Please let us know how you plan to get to the event – we will be in contact to arrange travel.

How will you ensure this lunch is COVID safe?

We will be following the FYA Covid policy and a Covid plan. We will supply rapid antigen tests (RATs), hand sanitiser and N-95 face masks. 

To attend the lunch, you need to:

  • Not have cold or flu-like symptoms
  • Not have recently been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.

Accessibility

The venue is wheelchair accessible with gender-neutral accessible bathrooms. We will also be using the venue’s ventilator throughout the lunch and that there are two doors on opposite sides of the room which can be opened to allow air from outside to increase ventilation. Vacant rooms are available for quiet time or prayer.

Getting there

For those taking public transport, trams 11 and 48 stop nearby on Harbour Esplanade. Southern Cross train station is also just an eight minute walk away. 

For parking, there is street parking available right outside The Hub Docklands, along both Harbor Esplanade and Waterview Walk. There are also car park companies in the area.
