Stephanie grew up in a family passionate about food. While completing high school she found out she could turn her passion into more than just a hobby. Stephanie took on a school-based apprenticeship so she could make a career out of working in the hospitality industry.
This meant she could start working and learning while finishing high school at the same time. While participating in a culinary competition, Stephanie was scouted and now works in a top restaurant in Swan Hill.
The How I Got The Job series shows young Australians talking about how Vocational Education and Training (VET) helped them to find direction and achieve success in a field they’re passionate about. There are a lot of misconceptions about VET. Yet, through this series we learnt these pathways help build real skills for real careers and open up a variety of employment opportunities across lots of different industries.
