Innovation Nation is an in-school enterprise learning program. It supports young people to generate new ideas, models and approaches to solving community challenges, whilst building their skills and ability to navigate the future.
The program is designed for years 9, 10 and 11 students and is delivered for schools in Western Sydney and Western Melbourne.
Automation, globalisation and more flexible working arrangements are rapidly reshaping our economy and workforce. FYA’s research shows that in this future world of work, young people are predicted to have 17 different jobs over 5 careers in their lifetime.
Young people need to be prepared for the economy of the future, so they can become job creators, not just job seekers, and navigate more complex careers and career pathways.
There is an urgent need to support young people from an early age to develop transferable enterprise skills that can reduce the risk of unemployment and open up pathways to self-employment and job creation. Innovation Nation works directly with young people to do exactly that, offering them an opportunity to solve an issue in their local community through project based learning paired with industry expertise.
Innovation Nation brings together schools and industry to help give students the skills and agency to help shape their future. Business coaches from program partner Citi Australia work with teachers to support in the development of students’ skills, confidence and ideas throughout the program.
