Notice for Schools, Universities and TAFEs
There are provisions within the Copyright Act that allow educational institutions to reproduce copyright material for educational purposes under certain conditions without having to obtain the permission of the copyright owner. This is known as the Statutory Education Licence. More information is available at https://www.copyright.com.au/licences-permission/educational-licences/
Universities pay an annual fee for the Statutory Education Licence and should report their use of FYA’s materials to the University’s copyright office or copyright manager.
A sample of schools and TAFE institutes are surveyed by the Copyright agency each year to estimate how much is being copied and what is being copied. If and when your institution is surveyed, you should report your use of FYA’s materials to your local copyright manager.
