Geoff Cohen is a senior corporate finance executive with over twenty years’ experience in financial services and M&A. He is currently a Managing Director at Flagstaff Partners, a Melbourne-based specialist corporate finance firm. Prior to joining Flagstaff, Partners in February 2012, Geoff worked at ANZ Banking Group, initially as the Head of M&A in Group Strategic Development, overseeing M&A activity by the bank, including acquisitions in Australia, NZ and Asia. He was later appointed Managing Director, Investments and Insurance, with responsibility for a number of the bank’s wealth management activities. Before ANZ, Geoff held senior positions at a number of investment banks. Geoff holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) from the University of Melbourne.
Geoff has a keen interest in financial literacy, particularly for young people, education, and diversity in the workplace. He was a member of the Steering Committee overseeing the inaugural Adult Financial Literacy survey undertaken by ANZ in 2003. Geoff chaired ANZ’s Australian Diversity Council and was a member of the Victorian Finance Industry Council.
Geoff is married and is a father of three teenagers. He tells too many Dad jokes, plays a bit of golf and tennis in his spare time, and needs to lose about 5 kilos this summer.
