The COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt the way we work, communicate and live.
The long-term social and economic implications will continue to unfold for months to come, but for now, many young people are suddenly unemployed, out of school or university, taking on caring responsibilities, and experiencing significant changes to their living arrangements. Their world is forever changed.
We understand that this change requires a unique response not only now, but in the months and years to come. FYA is talking and working with youth organisations from across the country, identifying how we can best collectively support young people through this crisis and create a better future.
To help us understand the challenges our community are facing and inform the design of our response, we would value knowing what you believe are the priorities. This short survey will take only a few minutes, but provides us with your important perspectives.
In the meantime, all our work continues—albeit in new, virtual ways. To begin with, we’re moving our programs online. We’re creating new resources to support their delivery remotely. Our newsroom has been talking to young people to understand what their world looks like during the COVID-19 pandemic, and importantly, backing their voices at a time when they are not being involved in the decisions that affect their future.
The future looks very different, but we know young people are ambitious, creative and capable of rethinking the world. And we will be there every step of the way.
Stay safe, and stay tuned for more updates.
