As an organisation dedicated to backing all young Australians, FYA knows that young people care about, and want to live in a society where all people are treated equally.
The upcoming postal survey, will see us vote as to whether to grant the same respect, dignity and legal recognition to same sex couples that opposite sex couples currently have.
We believe supporting marriage equality is about upholding the rights of all, not just some – which is why FYA is proud to support marriage equality and a vote for YES.
Equal rights ensures our diverse population can thrive, regardless of their religious or cultural background, sexuality, gender identity; no matter who they are, no matter where they live.
This video explains why FYA is standing up for marriage equality and a vote for yes.
As the national debate about the right of two adults to marry continues, we know that some of the discussion will be challenging to hear and be involved in.
To all young Australians who are finding these discussions, particularly those on social media, difficult or disrespectful, know that we stand with you.
