Research that people use
FYA has a long history of producing high quality, substantive and internationally recognised research on the state of young people in Australia.
For more than a decade, FYA’s Research team has informed policy reform and practice in relation to the education and wellbeing of young Australians and the strengthening of their communities. Some key areas of expertise:
- Education policy and ideas for reform
- School-community partnerships
- Citizenship and participation
- Young people’s leadership
- Creating cultures of diversity
- Youth transitions
- Technology, education and wellbeing
FYA conducts its own research, building on its independence to advocate for change. Partners include universities, advocacy groups, philanthropic organisations and other non profits.
The team is also frequently commissioned to provide research and advice to other agencies including federal and state government departments, commercial and non commercial organisations and international agencies.
