Do you want to help save our planet?
Do you want to have fun?
Do you want to learn new skills like making fire with no matches, building bush shelters, and finding bush tucker?
Do you want to become a youth leader and have a voice in our community?
Do you want to make a difference?
We are a group of passionate and inspired youth from the Bellingen Shire, who have been doing all of the above for the last two years. We aim to strengthen the connections between youth and our environment, while empowering youth to create a stronger voice and stronger connections within our community.
Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE)
Sydney, NSW.
Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE) works at the intersection of arts, media, technology, and community in Greater Western Sydney.
Greater Western Sydney, as home to the largest migrant, refugee and urban Indigenous populations in the country, is Australia’s most culturally diverse region. We work on a wide range of innovative programs and projects that engage and support the region’s diverse communities and artists to express, create and collaborate on a range of screen, music, radio, sound, online and new media projects.
In partnership with FYA, ICE created Youth Digital Cultures, a project that encourages young people from diverse cultural backgrounds to collaborate through a series of digital arts skills development workshops and creative projects to develop their own responses to the issues affecting their lives.
Youth Digital Cultures delivers numerous workshops in developing media skills, storytelling, film-making, film festivals- particularly with young Muslim women and the Arabic community.
ICE also manages Switch, Western Sydney’s state of the art multimedia and digital arts access centre, a partnership with Parramatta Council. ICE manages Artfiles, a program of support for creative practitioners. ICE has expertise and success in developing digital media, cultural development and arts programs that engage thousands of individuals, artists and communities annually and is known and respected for undertaking projects with newly arrived migrant and refugee communities and young people.
