Young Social Pioneers
Up to something great?
The Young Social Pioneers program brings 14 change makers together each year to develop their leadership skills and support their vision for social change.
During their 12 month journey FYA provides each Pioneer with professional training, workshops and strategic advice, and connects them with like minded professionals. During this time participants learn how to develop their initiatives to a sustainable level.
The project currently has 28 alumni whose ideas have affected over 50,000 people around the world. Young Australians aged between 18 and 29 with a social change project are encouraged to apply. When young people are given the platform to contribute, whole communities feel the benefit.
‘ A great Young Social Pioneer is someone who has a vision and is ready to back themselves.’
- Chris Boyd, Young Social Pioneer 2010, founder Australian Youth Against Cancer
‘The Young Social Pioneers program has helped me become a more confident and skilled leader. It allowed me to build Mayibuye‘s capacity to be more sustainable and reach far more people in need.’
- Kumari Middleton, Young Social Pioneer 2010, founder Mayibuye Inc.
Young Social Pioneers is the Australian institution for the International Youth Foundation’s YouthActionNet initiative.
