Young Social Pioneer Chris Boyd – on the home stretch of his epic kayak against cancer
Chris Boyd has kayaked nearly 2,600kms down the Murray River for Australian Youth Against Cancer (AYAC).
SMS / SENDER: Chris Boyd /Received: 11:35am /”We’re about 3hours away from the mouth. It’s been an absolutely incredible experience – we’ve had just about every weather extreme nature could throw at us and it all nearly came unstuck just yesterday as we spent almost 12 hours trying to cross the notorious Lake Alexandrina in 45km+ winds! The trip has been a huge success in terms of fundraising for Lifehouse (The Chris O’Brien Cancer Centre) and in the awareness we have generated for the issue of cancer in young adults. This is the end of our journey but just the beginning for AYAC!”
